Aviva Stadium
The Aviva stadium project started in May 2007 and was completed in April of 2010.
Kilsaran supplied the Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) used in the reception desk on the Premium level of the stadium. SCC has been called 'the quiet revolution in concrete construction', globally it is becoming more popular and is typically used where congested steel is an issue, complex and architecturally interesting shapes are to be poured or where high quality surface finishes are required.
We also designed the exposed-aggregate concrete on the Premium Level podium slab. Exposed-aggregate concrete is a durable and original concept for outdoor areas. It is a commonly used system in mainland Europe which is used to enhance external landscapes, when properly integrated with both buildings and plant life. The finished surface of the exposed aggregate combined with the colour of the hydraulic binder can give a natural look with excellent ageing properties.
