Minister James Browne Officially Opens Kilsaran’s New Arthurstown Precast Facility

Kilsaran was honoured to welcome James Browne, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, to officially open its new state-of-the art precast facility in Arthurstown, Co. Kildare. The visit marked a significant milestone for the company and highlighted the important role of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) in accelerating housing delivery across Ireland.

During the visit, Minister Browne, accompanied by senior officials, was given a comprehensive tour of the Arthurstown plant, the largest twin wall precast facility ever commissioned in Ireland. The facility is capable of producing up to 4,000 apartment units annually, combining cutting-edge technology with sustainable processes. This includes the use of recycled materials wherever possible, contributing to waste reduction, resource efficiency, and a circular economy in construction.

Minister Browne praised Kilsaran for its investment in innovative technology and sustainable practices, noting that the facility will play a key role in delivering high quality, energy efficient homes faster and more efficiently. The Minister also highlighted the broader importance of MMC in supporting national housing targets while ensuring environmental responsibility.

The visit also included discussions on the role of MMC in speeding up housing delivery, improving build quality, and creating more energy-efficient homes. Minister Browne and Kilsaran representatives explored opportunities for collaboration between industry and government to further support the use of advanced construction methods and sustainable materials across the sector.

The Arthurstown facility joins Kilsaran’s existing operations in Oranmore, Galway, and Brownstown, Kildare, strengthening the company’s full-service offering from design and manufacture to installation. By combining advanced precast technology with sustainable practices, Kilsaran is helping to address Ireland’s housing challenges while supporting national objectives for efficient, high-quality, and environmentally responsible construction.

The opening of the Arthurstown facility demonstrates Kilsaran’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the delivery of solutions that make a tangible difference to Ireland’s housing sector
