Kilsaran International collaborated with JJ Rhatigan & Company and the Office of Public Works (OPW) Architectural Services Team to supply 2,400 square meters of paving and 300m of kerbing for the new Western Region Garda Headquarters in Renmore, Galway, which was officially opened by Minister Flanagan in July 2018.
For the hard landscaping of this scheme, Mellifont Charcoal three size mix paving blocks along with Silver Granite Tara kerb were chosen from Kilsaran’s wide range of colours, sizes, and textures, to complement the building, which was clad in limestone and granite. The pedestrian entrance and pathways consisted of a 60mm depth, and the car park area, which is subject to traffic loading, consisted of an 80mm depth. The paving was all set with our Streetscape System of High Strengh Bedding Concrete, Priming Slurry and Rapid Set Jointing Mortar.
Kilsaran’s DuraRend Classic System was used on parts of the building facade with a silicone render finish.
The Garda Headquarters in Galway is one of six being constructed in Ireland. Kilsaran were also the supplier of paving for the Garda Headquarters in Wexford, which was completed in September 2017.

With an annual footfall of more than 30 million, Grafton Street plays a key role in attracting shoppers and visitors to the city centre. The colour palette used will be similar to that used in the O’Connell Street and Henry Street repaving schemes. This will help create a noticeable ‘civic spine’ between Parnell Square and Saint Stephens Green. The carriageway granite is laid on a 50mm compacted bed of BS7533 Compliant Kilsaran Streetscape High Strength Bedding Concrete (HSBC). Kilsaran Priming Slurry is used on the Granite units to achieve the strict adhesion requirements as set out in BS7533 Parts 7&12. The 10mm Wide Joints are filled with Kilsaran Rapid Set Jointing Mortar. The footway’s which will not receive commercial traffic are laid on a mortar bed of Kilsaran 3:1 Sand&Cement at 30mm compacted depth.The Joints are also filled with Kilsaran Rapid Set Jointing Mortar. There are two electrical powered Silo’s located nearby with Storage of up to 33 tonnes of the HSBC and 3:1 Sand&Cement in each. A small teleporter is used to transport the bedding materials to site on demand which cuts down on site mixing and reducing therefore dust and noise pollution.

Kilsaran International was proud to have been one of the main suppliers of both the external cladding and paving materials to the new Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages by Value Retail, located in the stunning Kildare Village approximately 1 hour from Dublin City Centre.
A combination of Kilsaran Streetscape materials, Mortars, Renders, EWI and Clima Pave were all used in this prestigous project.

Kilsaran International had the honor of being chosen to supply our inspiring, high quality paving range for the new combined Waitrose and John Lewis At Home store in Horsham, West Sussex. The design criteria for this project was to make sure the contemporary building blended in with the local landscape while allowing for ease of access by all, be aesthetically pleasing, whilst minimizing incidents of slips or trips in and around the public space.
The block paving chosen by the design team was ideal for this application as it provided the warm natural feel and practical requirement all quality projects aspire for.

Kilsaran supplied 10,000m² of its Newgrange Silver & Black Granite paving flags for the set down area and foot paths around the Airport. The flags were manufactured with a special fibre reinforced mesh to help withstand the extra loading from heavy duty sweepers and maintenance trucks. This process of shot – blasting gives a fine textured feel to paving. Kilsaran’s state – of – the -art manufacturing facility in Dunboyne has five secondary finishing lines, one of which is a shoot – blasting line. 10,000m² of Kilsaran’s Newgrange Paving Flags (600x400x80) with fibre reinforced mesh made to order was used around the Airport. A further 1,100 linear meters of Newgrange kerbs was used to eliminate damage caused by heavy vehicles mounting the pavements.

BACKGROUND
The extension almost doubles the size of the resort which now has 134 bedrooms. The brief was very specific in that the new extension had to blend seemlessly with the exisiting building which is in the style of a 19th century Fench Chateau.
The Kilsaran Ceresit-Ceretherm External Wall Insulation sytem was used on the new Liffey Wing and the results speak for themselves.
